Lines We Did Not Draw is a multidisciplinary exhibition showcasing the work of immigrant artists and those shape by notions of migration, borders, and citizenship. Through painting, animation, installation, jewelry, and more, the exhibition confronts the politics of borders, the weight of enforcement, and the battleground of identity. It is a celebration of being from here and from there—de aquí y de allá—of shared memories of home, cultura, and collective identity.

Together, these works trace the personal and communal stories that emerge in movement—stories of displacement and belonging, resistance and reimagining—while embodying what it means to live within diaspora, from the confines of a holding cell to the gilded cage of a nation that calls itself united yet remains divided. Artists from across geographies reveal a common struggle and a shared oppressor, using their talents as acts of resistencia. And although they did not draw the lines that bind them, they continue to draw their own paths toward life, liberation, and self-determination.
